Dear friends,
“And my God will supply every need of yours according to his riches in glory in Christ Jesus. To our God and Father be glory forever and ever. Amen.” Phil. 4:19-20
Rejoice with us that God has once again richly provided all we need by way of both finances and wisdom.
In our previous update we informed you of a few financial concerns.
This update is primarily about those three things. And, of course, we have lots of pictures to show how things are going here.
Taxes…
Trinity Church in Spokane Valley, WA, Faith Bible Church in Spokane, WA, and Grace Community Bible Church in Austin, TX pitched in significantly to help cover our tax need. A handful of individuals/families helped a lot as well. Thank you for praying!
Health Insurance…
We told you that we were facing almost a $10k payment for the next two years of Health Insurance. Almost $6k was provided through various gifts, and we are grateful! This led to our decision to change our insurance provider to an American agency. While this agency is a little more expensive, it allows us to pay monthly instead of annually, communication is better, and expectations have been made clear. We did not find most of these benefits with our Czech options. Now, funds given by you all will go toward paying the first 8 months of premiums. After that, we will carry on the monthly payments. Thank you again!
Ongoing…
It has become apparent that we will need to increase our monthly support moving forward.
One of the main reasons for an increase comes from a more informed estimation of future furloughs. The cost of flights for 6 people, hotels, car rentals, food, gas, travel health insurance, etc. can add up to $20,000+ each time. We hope to take a furlough every 1.5–2.0 years. Currently we are saving enough for about ½ of our need each year.
Once we’ve come to a more specific number, we’ll let you know. We’ll need to have it a checked and approved first.
All of that being said, please know we are not suffering over here. These changes are mainly for the importance of furlough planning, emergency planning, a few small personal adjustments, and the ability to help the church here more.
Other items…
Jared had an awesome time in Spokane. He got to be a part of a dear friend’s wedding, see many of our friends, worship with our sending church, and spend a few hours with family.

Claire’s pregnancy is going well. The doctors have been pleased with her management of gestational diabetes. She is healthy, and so is the baby. Pray for the usual exhaustion and discomfort that comes with pregnancy.

Baby girl comes in July! Pray we’d be a good team. Pray for joy and gratitude in the Lord always.
We are anticipating a few summer visits! We’ll have four visits from friends and family. One in June, two in July, and one in August. Very exciting!
Caleb turned 2 today and Bennett turns 6 tomorrow! We’ll have a big party on Saturday the 17th. It will double for the birthday and for thanking friends who have made our transition here so smooth and pleasant. About 60 people have said they’ll come. About a third of those are neighbors and the rest are from church. Pray for good weather, and pray that believing Czechs would have good interactions with unbelieving Czechs.

Until next time…
The next thing is to discuss with the Denny’s what year two is going to look like. Year one was ‘adjustment year,’ and getting our bearings starting to learn the language. Year 2 could look a little different. We’ll keep you informed.
Thank you all again for your consistent prayer. We love hearing from you, and we’d be happy to pray specifically for you as well! Please let us know how 😀
Here are some more random pics for good measure…
