Well would you look at that… It seems we’re nearing launch time! That being said, there are a few things we need your prayer for regarding that launch time.

Keep reading for details on selling our house, renting a house, our visa process, and a few other details.

Sale of House

It’s been a roller coaster!

On March 3 we accepted an offer on our house… But that fell through.

A couple weeks later we accepted another one!… But that fell through…

Shortly after, we accepted a THIRD!… But we had to pull out of the deal due to some concerns about the buyers…

So we’re on our fourth round of trying to sell the house. God has determined the times and boundaries for all nations since the beginning of time (Acts 17:26), so we know this is no big deal to him… Thankfully, we aren’t dependent on the house selling for our departure date, but we’d love to have this item checked off our list. Pray we’d be patient and thankful as this process continues!

We’ve moved out of our house and will live with Claire’s parents through the end of this month.

Looking for a House

Interestingly, Czech real estate agents have been slow to respond to us. It could be because they’re hesitant to work with foreigners, it could be the size/age of our family, it could be that we’ve mentioned we would like to bring our dog, or it could just be ‘the Czech way.’ We can’t know for sure.

It took about a month before we began hearing back concerning our rental inquiries, and last week we received two responses. So we’re slowly but surely pursuing those options for now.

Visas

We have not received our visas back yet, but they are being processed. We’re uncertain if they’ll arrive before our desired departure date (May 29th), but we’re working through some options for how to still make that date feasible.

Financial Support

One-Time Costs DONE: To keep an amazing story short, God graciously provided the last $15,000 for us through one dear couple from one of our supporting churches. Because of this, we are all set for one-time costs for getting to CZ, settling in, and purchasing what we need! Praise God!

Ongoing Needs Remaining: The couple mentioned above also committed to $500 a month for us. Shortly after we learned about several others who have committed to help. This leaves us at just $150 of remaining monthly needs! Please consider being a part of meeting that need, and/or pray God would lead others to be a part of it! (That could be two families at $75 each; it could be three families at $50 each – so on and so forth.)

Friends, Family and Faith Bible Church

We’ve had the blessing of getting sweet time with friends and family, and a few extra occasions to squeeze in time with various Bible Study groups at Faith Bible Church. Claire has gotten to speak at a few women’s events, and Jared preached his last sermon for Faith Bible Church as well. You can listen to Jared’s last two sermons on Apple Podcasts or Spotify or Google Podcasts if you’d like (John 17 – Glory’s Prayer, and 1 Corinthians 15:50-58 – Risen Not in Vain).

Summary Prayer Items

• Hearts at Peace: Pray we would regularly cast our cares on the Lord so that His peace guards our hearts and minds (Phil. 4:5-7).
• Gratefulness: Pray we’d soak in every opportunity to gives thanks to the Lord for all he’s doing.
• Home for the dog: Pray we’d find the right home to give our dog, Rogue, to. He’s special to us.
• Sale of our home.
• Czech home: Close proximity to church in Kladno, or conveniently located between church and where we’ll be doing Czech lessons.
• Visas: Pray we’d receive our visas before May 29th!
• Ongoing Needs: Pray we’d receive the last $150/month for ongoing monthly needs!
• Rejoice in the Lord always (Phil. 4:4): Pray we’d be rejoicing always as God reveals what his will is for each of these things.
