Hello friends and family,
Amidst everything else you have going on and all you’re thinking about, please take a minute to praise God and pray with us.
Summer is coming to a close. It happened so quickly! But we’re thankful for the rest our brains got, as well as our bodies. We will start Czech lessons back up next week!

We had about 2.5 weeks straight of stomach flu. Hopefully our bodies and immune systems have adjusted to this new scene by now. We still feel like we’re in the process of bouncing back.
Jared’s parents and uncle and aunt came at the end of August for about 10 days. It was a great time, and a sweet taste of home.
Millie joined Bennett at school, and she’s loving it! They’re doing half days together, and we gave her the goal of learning 2 new Czech words each day.
Caleb is doing school at home, learning colours, numbers, shapes, letters, etc. He’s catching on quickly!
Baby Annie is great. She’s growing a lot. Right now, evenings are the toughest with her. Claire is handling the extra load well, though of course it goes without saying that is always challenging with an infant in one way or another.

We are also working on getting signed up for driving school. Apparently the types of international licenses we got aren’t acceptable any more. Jared will take the class first, then Claire. Please pray we can take the short version of the class which would just be a couple drives and a written test. Certain factors are making that uncertain as an option at this point, but it could work out.
On a related note: Our two year visas were approved! Praise God! This is such a relief, and we’re thankful for a slightly longer stretch before we have to do the process again.
We would appreciate your prayers regarding some new financial needs. After a year of evaluating budget, cost of living, better saving for furloughs and personal needs, handling taxes properly, health insurance (etc.), it has become evident that we need to increase our budget. The majority of the ministry increase is related to furloughs; the majority of the personal increase is related to taxes, and higher health insurance and house rental than anticipated.
Combined the need is about $1,000 monthly. The amount was higher, and after receiving some help from the elders of our supporting churches this is what remains. So we are asking individuals and families to consider their ability to help. God has always provided, and we know he will again as he sees fit.
Jared preaches this Sunday and has less prep time than usual. Pray for clarity of mind as he preps, and pray for the church to be ready to hear from Psalm 119:33-40.
He will preach from Psalm 119:33-40.
33 Teach me, O Lord, the way of your statutes;
and I will keep it to the end.
34 Give me understanding, that I may keep your law
and observe it with my whole heart.
35 Lead me in the path of your commandments,
for I delight in it.
36 Incline my heart to your testimonies,
and not to selfish gain!
37 Turn my eyes from looking at worthless things;
and give me life in your ways.
38 Confirm to your servant your promise,
that you may be feared.
39 Turn away the reproach that I dread,
for your rules are good.
40 Behold, I long for your precepts;
in your righteousness give me life!

We think of you very often, and we pray for our supporters/supporting churches every Monday. We’re also praying for the church worldwide and the U.S. as a nation more these days.
Please pray that we can arrange a furlough for summer of 2026. We hope to see some of you then, if God wills.
